“Tideway Dinghies” is based near Maldon in Essex and builds and sells a select range of sailing and rowing boats built and finished to a high specification
The range has grown from the original 12 foot Tideway which started life in the mid fifties as the Walker 12, built as a clinker dinghy in wood, as were all small boats at that time. In 1963 an Owners Association was formed and the boat renamed the Tideway.
In 1991 the first boat in glassfibre was built and due to its success, and the demand for a larger version, the Tideway 14 was introduced in 1992. Tideway Dinghies have recently added a 10ft version with a simple rig of a single lugsail.
“Tideway Dinghies” also sell a limited range of small rowing boats available in 7 foot, 8 foot and 10 foot models.

Over the years Tideway’s have been built by a number of Boatbuilders but are now built exclusively by Tideway Dinghies who are committed to developing the class and extending the ownership of these first class, safe and practical familyboats. We work very closely with the Tideway Owners Association to achieve these aims.
